0 casts out of 710, Sonai GP allegedly boycott the poll due to political conspiracy

In Sonai Legislative Assembly's Swadhin Bazar GP, a significant vote boycott has unfolded as 710 voters from Group Three area refuse to cast their ballots.

 Their grievance stems from the relocation of their longtime voting center, alleging a political conspiracy behind the shift. Residents adamantly demand the restoration of their voting venue to Swadhin Bazar High School, where they've historically cast their votes, or the utilization of alternative local schools for voting purposes.

Despite the polling station's readiness according to protocol, not a single vote has been cast since its opening at 7:00 am. The presiding officer confirms the zero turnout, indicating a stark manifestation of the protest. Officials, including Maria Tanim, Circle Officer of Sonai, have engaged with the voters, offering assurance and cooperation. However, locals remain resolute in their demand for a secure and accessible voting location within their village, expressing reluctance to travel to the distant polling center.
