(1) On Tuesday India has recorded 2.94 lakh new Covid-19 cases.

COVID-19 UPDATE ON ASSAM.

(1) In Assam, everyone over the age of 18 will avail Covid-19 vaccine for free.

(2) Assam's Health and Family Welfare Minister said that last year the donations received for Covid-19 management will be used for the same.

(3) The Assam government informed that 10 million vaccines of Bharat Bio-Tech Covaxin will arrive in the state soon.

(4) Assam's Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the funds collected in the Asom Arogya Nidhi account will be used to purchase vaccines.

(5) Yesterday  Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted a post on his Twitter handle, that "Assam will give the vaccine for free to everyone from 18-45 years of age. GOI is giving free vaccine for 45+".

(6) On Monday, the Center announced that from May 1, all people over 18 years of age can get vaccinated against Covid-19.

(7) The vaccine manufacturers are free to supply 50% of the dose in the open market and to state governments, said centre officials.
 
COVID-19 UPDATE ON BARAK VALLEY

(1) Today 48 people's were tested Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

(2) The number of Covid-19 cases will increase further as RT-PCR reports of all samples have not been announced.

(3) Dr. Bhaskar Gupta the principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, told that 29 patients are hospitalized in Covid-19 ward and 5 of them are in ICU and 2 patients are in critical condition.

(4) 56-year-old Surjmohan Das died due to comorbidities. On 17 April, he was admitted to SMCH and breathed his last at 10:05 AM today. The Death Audit Board after analyzed all reports adjudged it as a death due to Comorbidities with Covid-19.

(5) Another 43-year-old man, Bappa Biswas, a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar Karimganj, was admitted to SMCH on 19 April. This evening he succumbed to the Kovid-19 ICU. His report was sent to the board for audit.

(6) 6 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Hailakandi.

(7) 1203 samples were tested at Karimganj out of which 11 samples were founded Covid-19 positive.

(8)  In Karimganj,22 patients were discharged from observation, which leads to dropping the active cases to 89.
