Trio Detained at SMCH for Child Abduction
Three people were caught trying to abduct a baby at Silchar Medical College's maternity ward, leading to arrests and community concern.

Two women and a young man were apprehended at Silchar Medical College under suspicion of child abduction. The incident unfolded when the accused trespassed into the maternity ward during the late hours.
Upon hearing an infant's cries, the two women approached, held the child briefly, and then attempted to flee with the infant, as reported by witnesses on the scene.
The commotion prompted immediate response from other maternity ward staff and visitors, who apprehended the suspects and rescued the child before handing them over to the authorities.
Subsequently, the police also arrested a young man in connection with the incident. This incident stirred significant attention within the medical college community.
