AIDYO observes All India solidarity Day on Friday in support of protest held by National level wrestlers

AIDYO All India Committee observed All India solidarity day along with the ongoing protest conducted by National level wrestlers against the Chief of the Wrestling Federation of India and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh on complaints of sexual harassment levelled by some female wrestlers including a minor.

At the call of the AIDYO all India Committee, activists of the Cachar District Committee also observed this day at Dwarbond. At around 4 pm, activists of the said organization assembled near Dwarbond Bazar to protest against this heinous crime committed by WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh who is allegedly accused of sexually exploiting women wrestlers.

Sujit Akura, district committee member of the organization informs that women wrestlers are sitting in protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for the past four days, demanding to register an FIR on him and immediate termination from his present post.

This incident has been an eye-opener for all of us which reveals the shocking reality of sports in India. These female wrestlers are the pride of the nation who contributed to the country by winning prestigious medals in the national and international tournaments but in return, they have to face constant bullying and abuse. AIDYO expresses its wholehearted solidarity for these strong ladies who are fighting for their dignity and self-esteem. Hence, it is hoped that the accused will soon be punished for his wrongful deeds, providing justice to the protesting wrestlers.
