Akshita Roy Creates history, wins RG Baruah U-11 Table Tennis Championship

A revolution has started in table tennis in Silchar city. 10 years old Akshita from Silchar became the first padder in the city to win the All Assam Championship.

The Silchar Paddlers reached the pre-quarter finals in six events during the two-day event at the Kolkalta Indoor Stadium in Guwahati.Besides, one of them played in the quarter finals. And, Akshita impressed everyone and became the champion till the final. The class four student of Silchar's Holy Cross School has just returned from taking part in table tennis in Dehradun. Naturally she has great stability in such small age. She won one match after another by capitalising on that.

This tiny paddler gets a by in the first round. In the second round, she defeated Jorhat's Kritika Sharma. Dibrugar's Alokita Bora was her opponent in the three-quarter final. After defeating her, Aksita faced Dibija Paul of Silchar. Askshita defeated her too. Akshita won the first three matches 3-0. North Lakhimpur's Rashmi Cheno posed a bit of a challenge in the semifinals. In that, Aksita won 3-1.

A total of 30 paddlers from Silchar took part in this year's event. Akshita won the victory match among them.
