All India Democratic Youth Organization Stands in Solidarity with Assam Teachers' Demands

The All India Democratic Youth Organization's (AIDYO) Assam State Committee released a press statement today expressing full support for the demands put forth by the All Assam Regional English and Lower Primary Teachers (Tutors) Association. The AIDYO committee congratulated the 9,795 teachers working in middle and lower primary schools, emphasizing the vital role played by educators and calling for the government to honor their dignity and rights.
AIDYO strongly condemned the government's divisive tactics, which create rifts among teachers and employees based on caste, religion, language, and color. The organization firmly opposed such discriminatory practices, advocating for the immediate provision of permanent jobs for contract and temporary workers. Additionally, AIDYO demanded comprehensive facilities and opportunities for permanent employees and urged the swift recruitment of permanent teachers to fill all vacant positions in schools and colleges.
The organization vehemently opposed the proposed closure of over 11,000 schools under the pretext of consolidation, emphasizing the need for fair employment opportunities across various government departments. AIDYO called for suitable allowances to be provided to the unemployed until employment is secured, alongside prompt payment and the eradication of unjust practices.
