An innocent boy was stabbed to death over property dispute; Candle March to be held today in Silchar.

In an unfortunate turn of events, an eight-year-old boy named Ayan Barbhuiya was killed brutally in a bright daylight on Water Works Road. This inhuman act was caught on CCTV cameras which has resulted in a massive criticism and demands for immediate justice for the minor boy.

After introspecting the matter, the police have arrested the main accused identified as Apu Mazumdar. According to the police, the culprit murdered the innocent boy due to dispute over property between the two families. The accused attacked the victim while he was walking on the road and injured him with a dao. The boy was then taken to Silchar Medical College where he was declared dead by the doctors.

The residents of Water Works Road and the locals of Silchar have come together as a support and are demanding that the case be placed in a Fast Track Court to secure immediate justice for the victim. They have also called for a Candle March which will be held today at 4 pm, starting from the statue of Khudiram Bose and heading towards Goldighi Mall in Premtala.

A meeting was held at the residence of former MP and Barrister, AF Golam Osmani where the residents of Water Works Road expressed their anger and resentment over the incident and a Development Committee was formed to keep a watch on the activities happening in the area. The committee will also make sure that such heinous crimes do not occur in the ensuing days. They also pointed out that the ruthless killing of the tender boy has affected the area.
