Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Lakhimpur organized a day-long animal health camp-cum-awareness programme on Wednesday at Khagori village in collaboration with Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc), Joyhing under a project funded by ICAR-IGFRI.

In order to extend helping hand to the livestock of the farmers, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Lakhimpur organized a day-long animal health camp-cum-awareness programme on Wednesday at Khagori village in collaboration with Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc), Joyhing under a project funded by ICAR-IGFRI.

More than 26 farmers from Khagori and other nearby villages received treatment for their livestock in the camp. More than 104 cattle and goats were treated in the camp. The common disease problems of livestock recorded during the camp were ticks infestation, digestive problems, worm infestation, malnutrition and debility and anoestrus.

Dr. P.K. Pathak, Senior Scientist & Head of KVK, Lakhimpur-cum-PI of the project leaded the programme. The health camp was officiated by Dr. Arindam Chakraborty, SMS (Animal Science)-cum-Co-PI, Dr. Prasanta Boro, Assistant Professor, Veterinary Medicine and Dr. Arunodoy Das, Assistant Professor, ARGO, LCVSc, AAU, Joyhing.

Not only treatment and health check-ups were done to the livestock but also mineral mixtures and vitamins, liquid calcium supplements, anti-diarrhoeal drugs, liver stimulants, stomachic powder and wound healing ointments, were distributed among the farmers.
