Another accident: 15-year-old boy hits four with car, legal action against father and son
In Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, a 15-year-old boy has caused uproar after hitting four people with his car on Tuesday.
This incident follows a fatal accident last October, in which the teenager was involved, resulting in the deaths of two people.
The boy, son of a prominent doctor, has been taken into custody and sent to a juvenile home after the latest incident. Both he and his father have been booked for their roles in these incidents.
Reports indicate that the teenager was driving recklessly, causing injuries to four individuals. Though the injuries were not fatal, the boy faces charges under IPC sections 279 and 338 for reckless driving.
The family has faced criticism for allowing him to drive again after the previous fatal accident in 2023.
Last October, the teenager crashed his car into two individuals, leading to their deaths. Initially charged under Section 304A, the charge has now been updated to Section 304 due to the gravity of the incidents.
This recent case adds to growing concerns about underage driving and road safety, following another incident where a 17-year-old crashed his Porsche, resulting in two deaths.
The repeated incidents have sparked a debate on the enforcement of driving laws and the responsibility of parents in preventing such tragedies.
