Assam cabinet allocates ₹800 crore for road construction in 800 tea gardens

In a bid to enhance all-weather connectivity in tea gardens across Assam, the state Cabinet has given the green light for the construction of Line Roads in 800 tea gardens.

The decision, reached during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday, aims to facilitate smoother transportation and accessibility within these crucial agricultural areas.

Under the approved plan, each Line Road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore, totaling an allocation of Rs 800 crore for the entire project.

This significant investment underscores the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and livelihoods in the tea-growing regions of Assam.
