Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that the government will publish a proclamation within a week to replace 6,000 vacant police jobs, including five commando battalions.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday announced that the job advertisement to fill 6,000 posts in the state police department, including 5 commando battalions, will be published by next week.
As many as eight key decisions were taken regarding policing in the state in the review meeting.
To strengthen the policing in the state, Sarma introduced various reformative measures that include 1,000 new quarters for police, infrastructure upgrade for Director General Police and Commissioner offices.
"In a review meeting conducted at Assam police headquarters, we resolved to adopt many informal justice steps with the goal of strengthening our policing infrastructure, which is critical to the safety and progress of our community," Sarma added. "1,000 new police quarters, infrastructure upgrades for the DGP and Commissioner offices," he added. "By March 31, 2022, we want to have settled as many unsettled cases as possible," he remarked.
"To evaluate and settle all matters rejected without the need for a logical conclusion by Guwahati Police since 1992." Each month, the percentage of resolved cases should exceed the number of newly registered cases by Guwahati Police. "As many unsettled cases as possible must be settled by March 31, 2022," he added.
"Within 24 hours of filing the FIR, the investigation will begin," he added. "On the 8th and 9th of January, the second SP conference will be place in Duliajan," he continued.
"A new standard operating procedure (SOP) pertaining to accident reports, passports, and post-mortem reports will be announced soon. "Within 30 days, passport verification will be done," he remarked.
