Assam CM refers to Rahul Gandhi as "uninformed" in dynasty politics dispute
Rahul Gandhi is currently on a two-day visit to Mizoram, which is set to hold elections on November 7.
A war of words erupted between Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over the issue of dynasty politics. Sarma, while addressing reporters in Guwahati, criticized Gandhi, referring to him as a 'poor illiterate fellow.' The chief minister argued that Gandhi should understand the concept of dynastic politics within the Congress, highlighting the involvement of several BJP leaders' children in politics.
Sarma's remarks came in response to Gandhi's comments questioning the role of Amit Shah's son in politics. During a press conference, Gandhi challenged the BJP's stance on dynasty politics, pointing out the political engagements of leaders like Amit Shah's son and Rajnath Singh's son. Sarma, in his retort, emphasized that Gandhi lacks a comprehensive understanding of the topic and accused him of being unaware of the influence of dynastic politics within his own party.
Earlier, Gandhi had accused Sarma of being an RSS puppet in the Northeast, alleging that the chief minister is orchestrating cultural and religious turmoil in states like Mizoram. He claimed that the Mizo National Front's alliance with the BJP and the Zoram People’s Movement signifies the RSS's infiltration into Mizoram. Gandhi characterized Sarma's role as a strategic move aimed at eradicating the cultural identity of the Northeast.
Rahul Gandhi is currently on a two-day visit to Mizoram, which is set to hold elections on November 7. The upcoming months will see elections in several states, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana, with vote counting scheduled for December 3.
