Assam CM takes a jibe at Gandhi siblings, accuses Rahul and Priyanka were 'dancing' during Uttarkashi crisis
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, accusing them of 'insensetive act' as the nation anxiously awaited updates on the Uttarakhand tunnel rescue operation. Speaking at an event, Sarma claimed the Gandhis were "dancing" in Telangana while the nation fretted about trapped workers.
Sarma expressed his concern, stating, "While Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were dancing in Telangana, we were anxious the entire day." He criticized the Congress leaders, asserting that the nation had never witnessed such "insensitive and inhumane leadership."
In a tweet, Sarma wrote, "Be it 26/11 or any other solemn occasion - it is always Entertainment First for the Family," referring to the Gandhi family's alleged merry-making during critical times. He further highlighted the contrast, stating, "We were very worried but did not display it publicly. The rescue was a massive operation."
Sarma also commended the massive rescue effort orchestrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, involving state and foreign expertise, machinery, and technology. He emphasized, "There has never been a mobilization of this scale in the nation, and we Indians are really proud of it."
Two Assam residents were successfully rescued from the tunnel, according to Sarma, and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The Chief Minister's accusations against the Congress leaders add a political dimension to the ongoing Uttarakhand crisis.
