The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is gearing up to host two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the Varshapara Stadium in Guwahati, which serves as the second home ground for the Rajasthan Royals.

With the team scheduled to play against Punjab Kings on May 15 and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19, anticipation is particularly high for the latter match.

Kolkata's top position in the current IPL standings and the possibility of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan attending the match have significantly heightened interest among fans.

The excitement surrounding the Kolkata match is further fueled by the impressive performance of Assam's own Ryan Parag, who has been excelling in domestic cricket this season.

Fans are eager to support Parag, along with other star players like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine from the Kolkata team.

Additionally, Rajasthan's need to secure victories in both matches to solidify their playoff qualification has added to the stakes, making these matches crucial for Sanju Samson's team.

Ticket sales reflect the heightened enthusiasm for the Kolkata match, with 80% of tickets already sold compared to 60% for the Punjab match.

Despite this, ACA officials remain optimistic about selling the remaining tickets for the Punjab match in the coming days. To ensure smooth organization, ACA has held meetings with administrative heads to plan match-day logistics, including traffic arrangements.
