Assam University, Silchar organised “SPICMACAY” a musical concert at Bipin Chandra Seminar Hall on 20 February, 2023.

Renowned Sarod Recitalist Dr.Rajeev Chakraborty and Hindustani classical vocalist Vidushi Mandira Lahari from West Bengal was the chief guest of the event and they are accompanied by Tabla artist Shri Sanjoy Prakash Das and Harmonium artist Shri Anirban Das.

 The event was inaugurated by the honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, where he welcomed all the guests and said about importance of Indian Classical music and youths interest and appreciated the gesture by the students and Union of AUS and added that such steps towards the upliftment and involvement of Cultural activities are really adding up in the overall development of the University, making it a hub of not only academics but also where students are indulged in such activities energetically. Rajib Khandalwal,Northeast coordinator of SPICMACAY , Brigadier Arun Nair (Massimpur base camp) and Professor G.P Pandey, Dean, Department of Mass Communication, was also present at the event.

After that both the guest perfomed melodiously and amazed the audience with their magical performance later Dr.Rajeev Chakraborty interacted with the students and answered all the questions asked by the students and expressed his greetings to organising committee for organising the event. “I would like to perform in future too in Aus Campus” he added. The event was concluded by Vote of thanks speech from Prof. Tarun Bikash Sukai, Coordinator of Assam University.
