Assam University student found hanging in Silchar apartment; family suspects murder

On Friday afternoon, a shocking discovery rocked Silchar Panchayat Road as the hanging body of Assam University student Zahid Abbas Tapadar was found in a rented room at 'Asiana' apartment.

 Following the news, locals gathered, prompting the intervention of Rangirkhari police, who swiftly recovered the body and sent it to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem examination.

Zahid, a resident of Karimganj's Chargola area, had been residing in the apartment with his brother for five to six months, according to the owner.

The distressing sight of Zahid's lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan was witnessed by his brother after they returned from Friday prayers, sparking suspicions among family members.

Zahid's family members suspect foul play in his death, pointing to his feet being stuck to the bed and the presence of blood stains on his body. They are hopeful that a thorough investigation by the police will reveal the truth behind Zahid's tragic demise.
