Bajrang Dal raises alarm over drug and prostitution menace at Silchar's new year parties

In a startling revelation, Bajrang Dal officials have expressed concern over the flourishing drug and prostitution scene at New Year Parties, Dandiya Utsav, and DJ Nights hosted in various hotels across Silchar city. Allegations of narcotics, ganja, liquor, and other intoxicants being rampant have raised alarm bells, with youths of different age groups reportedly engaging in illicit activities.

Branch officials of Bajrang Dal took action by handing over a memorandum to Superintendent of Police Nomol Mahatma of Silchar, urging immediate intervention by the administration. The memorandum highlighted the incidents of prostitution and drug use taking place in the guise of DJ parties or DJ nights, urging authorities to address the issue promptly. An application for acceptance of their concerns was also submitted.

Mithun Das, a prominent official of the Bajrang Dal, later spoke to journalists, providing detailed information on the toxic environment prevalent during revelry and the flourishing drug market under the guise of DJ parties in Silchar town. The concern is that such activities not only spoil the festive environment but also lead youths from different families astray.
