In a disturbing incident, a 22-year-old woman from Bengaluru was left stunned after discovering her boyfriend's phone harboring an extensive collection of over 13,000 nude photos, including images of herself and some co-workers. The woman, who met 25-year-old Adithya Santosh at a BPO where they both worked, reported the shocking discovery to the legal head of the company, leading to Santosh's subsequent arrest.

The woman and Santosh had met five months ago when he joined the BPO as a customer service agent. The BPO company clarified that Santosh did not use any company devices or tools to manipulate or alter the photographs, and the matter was promptly reported to the police.

Police arrested Santosh from the BPO office and initiated an investigation into the alarming collection of explicit photos. A police officer involved in the case stated, "We need some more time to find out the reason why he was keeping so many photos. A few of them are morphed and a few are real. We are also verifying if he had blackmailed any woman using them. His chat history and phone calls are also under verification."

The 22-year-old woman, who took the initiative to report Santosh, alleged that she had witnessed him taking compromising photographs of her roommates during his visits to their flat. To confirm her suspicions, she checked Santosh's phone without his knowledge, discovering the extensive collection of explicit images.

The BPO company expressed concern about the potential impact on other women, emphasizing that Adithya Santosh's intentions were unclear. The legal head of the company stated, "It could have impacted several other women. Though he hadn't done any harm to other women in the office, his intention was not known to anyone. If the photos were leaked it would have put them under trauma. We wanted to tell police that it is a potential issue."

This incident highlights the dark side of technology and artificial intelligence, contributing to the increasing fear surrounding morphed images and deepfakes. The government is urged to address and curb these issues, acknowledging the potential harm they pose to individuals, especially women, in the era of technology-driven privacy breaches.
