Brahmaputra's Bengali unitedly stand against Assam Govt's Neglegence towards Banner tearing issue, BDF Appluds
The people of Apam Barak are called upon to shoulder the responsibility of thwarting these divisive plots.
In a remarkable display of unity, the Bengali community residing in the Brahmaputra Valley is standing tall against the tide of radical nationalism and alleged government indifference. The Barak Democratic Front (BDF) has accused the state government of turning a blind eye to the installation of Bengali banners in various locations within the Brahmaputra Valley. Various Bengali organizations in the region have rallied together, denouncing these unconstitutional activities.
The BDF, at the forefront of this movement, welcomed the collective action taken by these organizations. Joydeep Bhattacharya, Chief Convener of BDF Media Cell, expressed his encouragement at the unity displayed by Bengalis in the Brahmaputra Valley, regardless of their religious backgrounds. He emphasized that this solidarity was vital in the face of threats posed by radical nationalists.
To amplify their voice, a joint protest meeting has been scheduled for November 1st in the city of Lanka. Leaders and activists from diverse Bengali organizations, spanning religious lines, are expected to participate.
Bhattacharya voiced the frustrations of many, highlighting the consistent threats and humiliation faced by Bengalis in social and mass media. He criticized the government's silence, suggesting a coordinated effort behind the scenes. He called on the 80 lakh Bengalis residing in the Brahmaputra Valley to respond not just verbally, but also through the ballot box, affirming their presence and resistance.
Hrishikesh Dey, another convener of BDF, warned against internal threats within the community. He cited the presence of divisive elements, such as the Bir Lachit Sena outfit, and their attempts to infiltrate different districts. Dey urged vigilance against these individuals, drawing parallels to historical betrayals during the freedom struggle.
The people of Apam Barak are called upon to shoulder the responsibility of thwarting these divisive plots. The united stance of the Bengali community in the face of adversity sends a powerful message against radical nationalism and underscores the importance of communal harmony and understanding in the region.
