Cachar College and Women's college students stand united against admission scam, demonstrates strong protest in front of DC Cachar Office.
On Tuesday, students from Silchar Women's College and Cachar College protested outside the Deputy Commissioner's office in Silchar, demanding admission into undergraduate programs.
They expressed frustration that despite passing their higher secondary exams from their respective colleges, they were being denied the opportunity to enroll for bachelor's degrees there. They highlighted that they also faced obstacles in securing admissions in other colleges, jeopardizing their future prospects.
The students conveyed their grievances to the media, emphasizing their right to equitable admission opportunities. They stated that if their demands were not addressed within the next two days, they would escalate their protests further.
Members of the All India Democratic Students' Organization (AIDSO) supported their demonstration.
During the protest, prominent local figures including the District President of AIDSO, Swagata Bhattacharya, District Editor Gourachandra Das, and others were present to show solidarity.
The students planned to approach the district administration for a resolution, warning of intensified agitation if their concerns remained unaddressed.
