Cachar excise department seizes thousands of liters of hand-made desi liquor
Due to the enforcement of Election Conduct Rules, Cachar district has been declared a dry day, prompting the authorities to take stringent action against illegal alcohol production.
The Cachar Excise Department has initiated raids across various Vidhan Sabha areas to curb the production and sale of hand-made desi sura. Led by District Excise Officer Santanu Hazarika and a dedicated team, these raids aim to seize and destroy thousands of liters of illegal alcohol, as well as materials used in its production.
The crackdown extends beyond the district headquarters to suburbs like Dhalai, Barakhla, and Lakshipur. Excise officials are actively dismantling operations involved in the production of domestic stove liquor and confiscating related materials.
The concerted efforts of the Excise Department underscore a commitment to maintaining law and order during the election period and upholding regulations surrounding alcohol consumption and distribution.
