In a recent development, three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the village defence organization in Katigorah, Assam's Cachar district. The incident, which occurred at the India-Bangladesh border near Kinnakhal market, raised concerns among locals, leading to their detention.

According to reports, the alert villagers noticed suspicious activities involving the three individuals on Sunday night. Acting on their suspicions, the village defence organization detained the trio, and subsequent interrogation revealed that they were residents of Bangladesh.

The detainees confessed that they had illegally entered Cachar with the intention of smuggling cattle back to Bangladesh. The village defence organization promptly informed the Cachar Police about the situation. Upon their arrival, the Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the police for further investigation.

Additionally, during the search, illegal items, including sharp weapons, were seized from the possession of the apprehended individuals. Despite this, the identities of the detainees have not yet been disclosed. The incident highlights the vigilance of local communities and law enforcement agencies in curbing illegal activities in the region.
