Cachar Police arrest two individuals with suspected Heroin at Silchar Railway station

In a targeted operation conducted yesterday at approximately 8:30 PM, authorities apprehended two individuals, identified as Md. Ali, aged 32, son of the late Joinal Abedin, and Roshidul Rahman, aged 30, son of Md. Tamsher Ali, both hailing from Vill - Chiriakhowa, Bandikhana, PS - Fakirganj, Dist - Dhubri.

The arrest took place at the entrance gate of the RPF Officers Rest House adjacent to Silchar Railway Station, Tarapur.

Upon inspection, law enforcement officers discovered contraband suspected to be heroin concealed within plastic soap cases, totaling ten in number and weighing approximately 128 grams.

The contraband was meticulously packed and believed to be intended for illicit distribution.

Following standard procedures, the seized substances were duly confiscated, and both suspects were taken into custody. Legal proceedings are now underway to address the matter through appropriate lawful actions.

This incident highlights the continued vigilance and proactive efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the illegal drug trade within the region.
