Cachar Police seize 1.8 kg heroin worth Rs 9.5 crore, arrest two

Cachar Police conducted two separate special operations today, targeting the transportation of narcotic substances in Dholai and Polarband, Lakhipur. Two individuals were apprehended, and a significant quantity of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 1.800 kilograms and packed in 129 soap cases, was seized from their possession.

The apprehended individuals, Rajibul Islam Laskar and Samim Hussain Laskar, were found in possession of a Bolero car and a motorcycle allegedly involved in the transportation of the narcotics. The estimated value of the seized substance in the black market is approximately 9.5 crores. 

The successful operations by Cachar Police highlight their commitment to combating drug trafficking and illegal activities in the region. The intercepted consignment of narcotics is believed to have been smuggled from Champai, Mizoram, and Churachandpur district, Manipur, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance and enforcement measures along interstate borders.

Further investigation into the matter is underway to apprehend any additional individuals involved and to dismantle any associated networks facilitating the illegal drug trade.
