Cachar Police seizes Heroin worth over 3 crore, arrest two youths
In a significant breakthrough in their ongoing anti-drug operations, the Cachar Police have made a notable seizure of heroin along with the apprehension of two youths in Nagadi village area under Sonai police station.
The operation, led by the diligent efforts of the Cachar Police, resulted in the arrest of Anwar Hussain and Hussain Ahmed Lashkar, alongside the confiscation of a substantial quantity of heroin. The seized narcotics, totaling 572 grams, were concealed within 44 soap boxes and were allegedly in possession of the youth identified as John.
Furthermore, authorities seized an AK 0276 Maruti Altro car believed to be connected to the illicit drug trade.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Subrata Sen, emphasized the gravity of the haul, estimating its market value to exceed 3 crore rupees. He also underscored the ongoing investigation, stating that the detained youths are currently undergoing interrogation as part of the police's relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
