In a significant triumph against the drug trade, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Cachar police and under the supervision of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), successfully confiscated 20,000 WY tablets valued at approximately Rs 1 crore. The operation, conducted on October 10 in the Lakhipur sub-division of Assam's Cachar district, led to the seizure of these illicit drugs. Additionally, the law enforcement forces managed to apprehend one drug peddler during the operation.
Following the operation, both the seized drugs and the individual in custody were transferred to the Assam Police to initiate further legal proceedings. This operation not only dealt a significant blow to the drug trade-fueled insurgency in the region but also contributed significantly to the broader mission of safeguarding the youth from the clutches of the drug menace.
