CBI arrests 3 TMC legislators in Bengal for Narada scam
Kolkata:The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Trinamool MLA's Firhad Hakim,Subrata Mukherjee and Madan Mitra, former minister and Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee at its Kolkata office on Monday in the Narada bribery case.
In connection with Narada sting operation,Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee was taken to the CBI office on Monday, officials said
Senior TMC leader, MLA Madan Mitra and former minister Sovan Chatterjee were bought to Nizam Palace as part of the probe
"The CBI has arrested me in the Narada case. We will settle this matter in court", Hakim, The State's Transport and Housing Minister claimed
Hakim Chetla was taken to the probe agency's office by the CBI team along with central forces, officials said
The CBI will present a charge sheet against them before a special court
The Narada Sting tapes, made public before the 2016 assembly elections in Bengal, were claimed to have been slot in 2014
All four were ministers in the previous Mamata Banerjee government when the Narada bribery tapes were released in 2014
TMC spokesperson Monojit Mondal has alleged that BJP wants to destabilize the State Government calling it a political vendetta.
However, Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has said that CBI is doing its job.
