The All Assam Chess Association, in collaboration with the All India Chess Federation and the Arbiters’ Commission AICF, successfully organized a Senior National Arbiter Seminar & Examination at the Down Town Hospital Auditorium, Dispur, Guwahati on 21st-22nd June 2024.

The seminar attracted a diverse group of forty-one participants from Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Telangana, Tripura, and West Bengal. These aspiring arbiters were given in-depth instruction by Mr. Vasanth BH IA, who covered essential topics such as the Laws of Chess, Tiebreaks, Tournament Regulations, Arbiter Regulations, Swiss Pairings, Rating Regulations, Title Regulations, and Fair Play Regulations.

Upon completion of the seminar, all participants undertook the examination, with many qualifying for the Senior National Arbiter (SNA) Title and FIDE National Arbiter (NA) License. The following individuals excelled in the examination:

The newly titled arbiters are required to register with AICF and obtain their FIDE NA License before officiating any FIDE-rated events. The licensing process includes paying Rs. 3210/- via the AICF payment portal and sending the payment details to indianchessfed@gmail.com and aicf.acct@gmail.com.

This seminar marked a significant milestone for aspiring arbiters, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and credentials to officiate various chess events, thus enhancing the administration of the sport in India. The event underscores the commitment of the All Assam Chess Association and the AICF to fostering excellence and professionalism in chess arbitration across the country.
