Hindu Chatra Sangha celebrates Dussehra in Silchar, highlighting the years of persecution against Bengali Hindus in the states of North East and Bangladesh. The 10 headed Ravan burnt on the occassion of Dussehra by Hindu Chatra Sangha portrayed each head for each of the massacres or harassments faced by the Bengali Hindus.
The head of Ravan, at the centre, displayed about the attacks on Durga Puja pandals all across Bangladesh in the last few days, that is reported to have began from Comilla itself. The other head, to the right of it, displays about Detention Camps of Assam, where a sizeable number of Bengali Hindus are suffering and have even been dieing painful deaths in those cells for years now.
The other 8 heads of Ravan signify many other important massacres and persecutions faced by Bengali Hindus that has never been brought to justice. They said that the Bengali Hindus have to become self reliant politically and socially to ensure their own existence in the eastern part of the sub-continent.
Bappon Paul further said that the organisation is deeply anguished over the reports of attack on Durga Puja pandals in Bangladesh. "We will also write to the Bangladesh PM, Indian PM and the foreign Ministry of both the nation to ensure that the perpetrators behind this mob attack are brought to justice", said Bappon Paul.
