Congress protests in Silchar during Chief Minister's visit

During Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s visit to Silchar, the Congress party organized a protest demanding urgent repairs to the city’s deteriorating roads and the replacement of malfunctioning smart meters.

The demonstration was held under the Khudiram Bose statue, where tensions rose as police intervened, resulting in clashes with protesters. Several Congress members were detained by authorities. The protest site has since been cleared and normalcy has been restored.
