Contractual staff protest at Silchar Medical College during CM’s visit

During Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma's visit to Silchar Medical College, temporary staff staged a sit-in demonstration outside the office of the college principal, demanding attention to their various issues. The Chief Minister was present to inaugurate a new ICU and review the college’s operations.

Upon hearing of the Chief Minister’s visit, the temporary staff seized the opportunity to raise their concerns directly. However, the Chief Minister instructed them to discuss their issues with the college principal. Frustrated by the response, the temporary staff began their protest outside the principal's office.

While the Chief Minister attended a review meeting inside, college authorities eventually came out to speak with the protesters. They received a memorandum detailing the staff's demands, which was handed to the Chief Minister.
