On Wednesday the CoWin portal and Aarogya Setu App crashed down for several users who tried to schedule their appointment in the age group 18-45.

The Centre has opened inoculation for everyone above the age of 18 from May 1 under a more “liberalised and accelerated" Phase 3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination.

The online registration for eligible beneficiaries opened on April 28, 4 pm today.

However, shortly after the registrations opened, several people complained that they could not access the CoWin portal or the app.

Those willing to get vaccinated can register by going to the CoWin portal: https://www.cowin.gov.in/home and click on the “register/sign-in” option or by using the Aarogya Setu App.

But this didn't work for many users as they got an error message saying: “CoWIN server is facing issues. Please try later.”

From the official handle of Aarogya Setu App, it was tweeted that, “CoWin Portal is working. There was a minor glitch at 4 PM that was fixed. 18 plus can register”.

It was also mentioned that appointments will only be possible once the state governments and private vaccination centres schedule sessions.

Many, however, took to social media to share screenshots of pages showing the error “504 Gateway Time-Out”.
Some said they didn't receive the OTP after entering the phone number or showed an invalid phone number or couldn't fill in their details after successfully logging in.

But are there are many who successfully completed the process.
