Crystal Meth Worth Over Rs 1 Crore Seized in Meghalaya; Trafficker Arrested

In a successful operation conducted by the East Jaintia Hills Police in Meghalaya on Tuesday, over one kilogram of crystal meth, valued in crores, was seized, leading to the arrest of a notorious interstate drug smuggler.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma praised the law enforcement action, emphasizing the state government's unwavering commitment to combating drug mafias and preventing their infiltration into the region.
The operation, carried out in the early hours, involved the East Jaintia Hills Police and its Anti-Narcotics Task Force at Nongsning village.
The officials apprehended an interstate drug trafficker and confiscated approximately 1.01 kilograms of crystal meth, estimated to be worth more than Rs 1.5 crores, as confirmed by the Meghalaya CM.
Praising the Director General of Police (DGP) in Meghalaya, LR Bishnoi, Conrad Sangma expressed his firm resolve against drug mafias, highlighting their determination to prevent these criminals from establishing a presence in the state.
Sangma lauded the East Jaintia Hills Police (EJHPolice) and its Anti-Narcotics Task Force for their courageous operation in Nongsning village during the early hours.
The operation led to the arrest of a notorious interstate drug trafficker and the seizure of 1.01 kg of Crystal Meth valued at more than ₹1.5 crores. Sangma emphasized the diligent efforts of the police in uncovering both backward and forward linkages related to the drug trade.
He commended LR Bishnoi and his team, reaffirming the government's unwavering commitment to the fight against narco-traffickers in Meghalaya.
