Cyber crime have been happening in India for a long time and recently the same is taking place in our Barak Valley from quite a few months.
Here the scammer contacts you through facebook. The scammer first sends you friend request with girl's photo as profile picture and once you accept their friend request they start video calling you continuously.
The same thing happened with Bikram Das, one the residents from Karimganj and a PhD Scholar of Assam University.
Bikram in the same way was scammed by the thugs and after that they were demanding money from him and on refusing the scammers are threatening to upload a video of him into the social media site. According to Bikram Das, the video is morphed where his face is attached digitally.
In telephonic talk with Explore Valley, Bikram Das said, "I'd a chat with our Karimganj OC and for now he's tracking the whatsapp number through which I received such threatening texts and will be filing an FIR once the number is tracked."
