Cyclone Hamoon Weakens into Depression, NE States to Expect Light to Moderate Rainfall, says IMD
The highly intense cyclonic storm 'Hamoon,' which battered coastal Bangladesh, has now downgraded to a deep depression over southeast Bangladesh and neighboring Mizoram on Wednesday.
According to the latest report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is expected to continue moving northeastward, further weakening into a depression and eventually transforming into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next six hours.
Additionally, the IMD has forecasted light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations in parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until October 26, 2023. The meteorological agency continues to monitor the situation closely.
