COVID-19 UPDATE ON INDIA
(1) According to the data from Union Health Ministry, the number of coronavirus cases increased by 3,46,786 in one day, bringing the number of infections in India to 1,66,10,481.
(2) The number of active cases exceeded 25 lakhs. The number of active cases nationwide reached 25,52,940, and comprise 15.37% of all infections.
COVID-19 UPDATE ON ASSAM
(1) On Saturday Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the centre will soon deliver 3 lakh vaccines to the state.
(2) Dr. Himanta Biswa sarma said that 2 lakh vaccines have been received today, and there are a total of 4 lakh vaccines in stock, and the centre will deliver another 3 lakh vaccines.
(3) Assam Health Minister said that until May 2 and 3, there will be no vaccination crisis.
(4) The Health Minister added: "We have also injected 13,000 doses of Remdisivir, and there will be no crisis in another week."
(5) The Health minister said that there won’t be any shortage of oxygen in the state and the government is thinking of setting up a 10-15 mini oxygen plant.
(6) While continuing the COVID-19 vaccination process, the Health Minister said that, unlike other states, Assam may need to be registered to receive the vaccine, adding that only then can the register know who should be vaccinated first.
(7) From April 28, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma added that patients at the COVID service centre will be paid 300 rupees so that they can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and cafeteria water.
(8) On Saturday Assam received 2 lakh doses of Covishield.
COVID-19 UPDATE ON BARAK VALLEY
(1) Last Friday Hailakandi reported 4 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of corona-virus in the district to 3,409.
(2) There are currently 27 active COVID-19 cases in the Hailakandi, Out of which 3,359 have been discharged after recovery.
(3) 7 patients are presently undergoing treatment at SK Roy Civil Hospital, 1 at Silchar Medical College and Hospital and 19 in home isolation.
(4) 172,582 samples have been tested for COVID-19, including 1,024 samples obtained in the last 24 hours.
(5) The Hailakandi district has accounted for 9 deaths due to Coronavirus.
(6) Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) has a new 60-bed intensive care unit (ICU ) for emergencies support and Covid-19 management.
(7) PWD employees are working closely with SMCH faculty to speed up the operation of this 60-bed intensive care unit (ICU).
(8) The Health Minister
stated that the ICU will be functional by 2 May, 2021.
(9) On April 23, 92 people in the Cachar district tested Covid-19 positive.
(10) The number of active Covid-19 cases in the Cachar district has increased to 374.
(11) On April 23, 1733, Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was conducted, out of which 40 were tested Covid-19 positive, and the other 52 were found Covid-19 positive in the RT-PCR test. This was informed by Dr.Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP Cachar.
