DDMA, Silchar takes up the crematory rites of Covid-19 fatalities.
The last rites are done by following all the rituals and last respect are being paid with full dignity and honour.
Covid-19 fatalities and the cremation processes followed after have always been difficult to deal with.
However, night cremation of Covid-19 patients that take place on a daily basis, has been taken up by District Adminstration DDMA, under the leadership of DC ma'am, DDC i/c CEO DDMA, DPM Shamim and Shri Biprajit Paul incharge Field Officer at Silchar with no partnership with any NGOs.
The last rites are done by following all the rituals and last respect are being paid with full dignity and honour.
Not only that, the entire cost of the cremation ceremony are borne alone by the district administration which includes the cost of travelling, wood logs, PPE kits, religious items required for the last rites etc.
District Disaster Management Authority had undertaken cremation of 52 people so far starting from the very beginning of the pandemic in Cachar.
As citizens of Cachar district we sincerely thank for the utmost support of the public of the town and offer our prayers for the families of the deceased. Our salute to the team working so immensely hard during the night time, even in the cases of bodies that are abandoned.
