Decomposed body was found hanging from a tree in Silchar's Srikona.

On Monday evening, the decomposed hanging body of a young man was discovered in the Srikona Banglaghat area of Silchar, causing widespread panic among the residents.

The discovery was made when locals, overwhelmed by a foul odour, ventured into a nearby jungle and found the body hanging from a tree.

They immediately informed the Tarapur Outpost, and police, along with a magistrate, arrived at the scene to retrieve the body, which was then sent to Silchar Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. The identity of the deceased youth has not yet been confirmed.

Residents of the area have expressed concern, blaming the dense jungle near Banglaghat for such incidents. They have urged the administration to clear the jungle, install streetlights, and regulate the parking of vehicles along the roadside.

Locals mentioned that a similar incident had occurred in the same jungle.
