In a significant operation conducted on the 28th of October, 2023, under the jurisdiction of the Dholai police station, law enforcement authorities have achieved a substantial breakthrough in their fight against the transportation of illegal Burmese Supari. The operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of suspected Burmese Supari and the apprehension of three individuals involved in the illicit trade.

The operation yielded the following recoveries:

1. Oil Truck Seized with 2500 kgs of Suspected Burmese Supari:

One oil truck, registered as AS-11-AC-5771, was discovered loaded with an estimated 2500 kgs of suspected Burmese Supari.

The authorities successfully apprehended one individual, identified as Moin Uddin Laskar, aged 34, and son of Foraz Uddin Laskar, a resident of Jamalpur P.S. Dholai, Cachar District, Assam. Moin Uddin Laskar has been taken into custody in connection with the case.

2. Truck Seized with Approximately 800 kgs of Suspected Burmese Supari:

A second vehicle, bearing the registration number AS-01-GC-0186, was discovered carrying approximately 800 kgs of suspected Burmese Supari. In this instance, two individuals were apprehended.

They were identified as Azad Hussain Barbhuiya, 23 years old, son of Lesu Mia Barbhuiya, residing in Chandpur part 4, PS - Barkhola, Cachar District, and Abdul Aziz Mia, son of the late Abdul Sukur, hailing from Saidkhani, P.S. Patharkandi, Karimganj District, Assam.

3. Auto Seized with 100 kgs of Suspected Burmese Supari:

The third vehicle involved in this illegal trade was an auto with the registration number AS 11EC-4615. It was found to be carrying an estimated 100 kgs of suspected Burmese Supari. The authorities apprehended one individual, Shahin Laskar, aged 22, and son of Ibrahim Ali Laskar, a resident of Rajghat, PS/Dholai.

The seized contraband and the apprehended individuals have been taken into custody, and further legal action is being initiated in accordance with the law. This operation underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement authorities to combat the illicit trade of illegal Burmese Supari, preserving the integrity of the law and safeguarding the well-being of the community.
