Driver and Handy men to cast vote through Postal Ballot paper
Drivers and Handy man on poll duty can cast their votes spontaneously through postal ballot papers. Postal Ballot van officially flagged off to distribute form 12D.

The district administration of Cachar has come up with another innovative idea to level up their SVEEP campaign. 'Garv Cachar' the theme of the campaign has won hearts. The administration conducted a very innovative program at Devdoot Traffic signal point on Friday. It aimed to motivate the drivers and handymen to cast their votes, as some of them are on poll duty. General Observer Amlan Aditya Biswas IAS formally inaugurated the event as he was the chief guest of the occasion.
Drivers passing by were welcomed wholeheartedly by the coordinators of the event with traditional 'Tambula' or betel vine and sweets on the street. Urging these drivers to cast their votes the coordinators stamped them with "Vote on 1st April for Garv Cachar". As for the moving vehicles, playcards were displayed with vote awareness messages.
IAS Biswas announced that this time the drivers and handymen will be able to cast their votes through postal ballot papers. He appreciated the efforts of the district administration and praised the initiative taken for SVEEP campaign. The perfect blend of tradition and modernity shone when the dignitaries were felicitated with "uttario".
In the very beginning of the event, SPO Ruli Daulagupu explained the aim and objectives of the program. DTO Anshuman Biswas said that applications for postal ballots will be available at the Department of Transportation.
A postal ballot van was flagged off by General Observer Amlan Aditya Biswas to distribute the form 12D.
Assistant Commissioner Cachar Sri Vibhor Agarwal IAS, Magistrate Bikash Chetri ALRS along with Assistant Planning Officer Sangeeta Gupta and other officials were present at the event. SPO Ruli Daulagupu ended the program with vote of thanks.
