Elderly mother and siblings driven out of home by son in Hojai district’s Lanka town to seize property
A heart-wrenching incident in Ward No. 6 of Lanka town, Hojai district, has tarnished humanity. Gautam Baul, driven by greed for property, expelled his elderly mother, Renubala Baul, and his brothers from their home.
Renubala, the 80-year-old widow of the late Ramkanai Baul, revealed the ordeal in Silchar on Saturday.
Renubala Baul accused her fifth son, Gautam Baul, and his wife, Shivani Baul, of subjecting her to inhumane treatment for a long time.
She described continuous verbal abuse, threats, and even life-threatening intimidation with a sickle by Gautam. Renubala also alleged that Shivani Baul forced her to make false statements to the media under duress.
Renubala mentioned that two of her sons are teachers, and their family was once held in high regard in the community.
However, the unethical, self-serving, and domineering behavior of Gautam and Shivani Baul has severely tarnished their family’s reputation.
This shocking revelation has raised concerns about elder abuse and the need for stronger measures to protect vulnerable individuals from such atrocities.
