The Sonai Electric Sub-Division area has been grappling with severe disruptions in electricity services due to the Kalbaisakhi outbreak, leading to frustrations among the residents. Despite tireless efforts by power workers to repair the damaged lines, the storm continues to wreak havoc, leaving end customers without electricity for nearly two hours daily over the past six months. The situation escalated to the point where people vented their anger towards electricity workers, with reports of attacks and death threats against them, prompting some workers to even consider halting their duties.

Amid mounting tensions, linemen Kabir Ahmed Majumder, Afaz Uddin Lashkar, and Asad Barabhuia voiced their grievances and concerns to the media, highlighting the challenges faced by the electricity department. The threat of violence and intimidation forced some workers to temporarily cease their operations, causing further disruptions in services.

However, with assurances of legal action from higher authorities, including Abdul Jalil Ahmed, the situation eventually calmed down, allowing for the resumption of work by the electricity workers, including Sujit Das and Govind Malakar, who remained committed to addressing the ongoing issues despite the challenges.
