Even after government order, unavailability of vaccine slots persist.
Citizens have taken over social media platforms like Twitter, showing their dissatisfaction and complaints about the issue of slot booking.
The unavailability of vaccination slots has been an issue since the beginning and it has not been seen to get any better. The Department of Health Services ( Family Welfare) of Assam on Monday, May 10, notified that the vaccination slot booking has been fixed at 4:00 pm every day, for all the districts.
Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare), had intimated district authorities via WhatsApp on 11th May to make the slots available. Ngatey tweeted "Today again I have reminded all the district authorities" and later shared a WhatsApp message where he has strictly advised the DIOs to work on it without delay.
Furthermore, Ngatey added that he has received a lot of complaints regarding this issue from the citizens.
"I don't know why the DIOs are not following the instructions. Citizens cannot waste their time the whole day on their phones for booking a slot. I request all the DIOs to adhere strictly from today," the message read.
Citizens have taken over social media platforms like Twitter, showing their dissatisfaction and complaints about the issue of slot booking. Many have been found to tag DHS in posts exclaiming about their poor experiences of vaccination slot booking
"Yesterday booking was not open till 5 pm but later it was seen that all slots of the centres are booked. Horrible! I think there is a syndicate" one of the posts read.
People have been seen to be involved in verbal spats in some of the centres due to the lack of availability and dysfunction.
