Parvez Alam from Mangaldai, Assam who is currently residing in the city of Sumy, Ukraine and is a 5th-year Medical student from Sumy State Medical University.

Speaking about the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Parvez mentioned the various issues many of the students from India are facing in the country.

He said that all international flights are suspended from Kyiv and the flight which was sent by the Indian government could not land to complete the evacuation process as Russia already started the invasion.

The Indian Government Officials have asked them to collect the necessary items from the nearby stores amidst the ongoing crisis. He mentioned that all the stores in the city of Sumy are closed and only a few
of them were opened. There is an acute 'shortage of food' in the city.

Also, Students were unable to withdraw cash from the nearby ATMs and all public transportations are closed as Martial law is being implemented in the country by President Zelenskyy.

Parvez requested the Indian and Assam Government to look into this matter as many of the people are still not able to return home. Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, nearly 100-students are stuck in Ukraine.
The Assam Government is in touch with the EAM, the CM said.
