In a significant development during the Border Security Force's (BSF) 59th Raising Day celebrations, India's Home Minister, Amit Shah, outlined comprehensive plans to bolster the nation's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh within the next two years. Addressing the gathering, Shah highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to address gaps and enhance security along approximately 560 km of the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh borders since the inception of their term in 2014.

The Home Minister shed light on the challenges faced by security forces along these borders, which span 2,290 km of the India-Pakistan International Border and 4,096 km of the India-Bangladesh border. These regions feature diverse terrains, including riverine, mountainous, and marshy areas, presenting formidable challenges for erecting fences. Shah noted that technical gadgets are being employed by the BSF and other agencies to counter infiltration effectively.

Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for various national achievements, Shah commended the relentless efforts of the BSF. He emphasized the crucial role played by BSF personnel in safeguarding the country's borders, stating that while border fences are aids, it is the valorous BSF jawans who play a pivotal role in ensuring the nation's security.

Shah reiterated the commitment of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to prioritize security, especially in states governed by the party. He underlined the significance of border security in the broader context of national progress and stability.

The announcement comes as a part of the government's broader strategy to fortify India's borders, with a particular focus on addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring a robust defense mechanism against potential threats. As the nation approaches its 75th year of independence, the government's proactive measures aim to reinforce India's status as a secure and resilient nation on the global stage.
