Forest department seizes 600 CFT of stolen wood in Lakhipur raid

In a successful operation based on confidential sources, the Lakhipur Forest Department conducted a raid resulting in the seizure of 600 cubic feet (CFT) of stolen wood from Dighli Nala in the Dighlang area of Lakhipur Samsti. The forest officials revealed that a substantial quantity of stolen wood had been transported from the Cachar-Dimahasao border to Cachar.

Range Officer Rubel Rangfar, addressing the media, stated that upon receiving this information, the forest department swiftly organized a raid, successfully apprehending illegal timber valued at Rs 5 lakh. Rangfar emphasized that an extensive investigation is underway to identify and bring to justice those involved in these illicit activities, while the recovered wood remains under the custody of the forest department.
