Four footballers of Kallol Sangha were injured in an accident in Silchar
Four footballers from the Silchar First Division club Kallol Sangha narrowly escaped a major accident. On Wednesday, Kallol Sangha manager Vikram Chhetri was traveling with the four footballers from Bihara Nunchuri to Silchar for a scheduled club match. At around 2 PM, near Babu Bazar, Chhetri's Alto car collided with a bike that suddenly appeared in front of them. To avoid a head-on collision, the car veered off and fell into a nearby ditch. The accident resulted in injuries to the manager and the four footballers in the car: Rinang Rossi, Pilas Tariang, Dimos Thomat, and Skemrang Sukis. Manager Vikram Chhetri injured his knee, while two of the footballers sustained head injuries.
Without delay, manager Vikram Chhetri rushed the injured footballers to Sonapur Hospital for treatment. After receiving first aid, all four footballers were released later that afternoon. Chhetri expressed relief, saying, "We were saved by luck. It could have been a major disaster if things were slightly different." The injured footballers have since returned home, with two having bandaged heads and the others receiving necessary first aid.
On Wednesday, Kallol Sangha was set to play against Tarun Sangha in the Silchar District Sports Association A Division League cum Knockout Football. According to the rules, Tarun Sangha arrived at the field before the reporting time. However, as the kick-off time approached, Kallol Sangha was absent from the field. Manager Vikram Chhetri subsequently informed Football Secretary Bikas Das about the incident.
Despite the unfortunate accident, the quick response and resilience of the Kallol Sangha team ensured that all affected footballers received prompt medical attention and are now recovering.
