Free medical camp organized for flood victims in Silchar by Breakthrough Science Society and Aranyak
Breakthrough Science Society, Silchar Chapter, in collaboration with Aranyak, Silchar, organized a free medical camp for flood victims in the Bishfuti area of Silchar.
The camp was held at the Bishfuti Community Hall on June 16, 2024, where around 70 patients were examined and provided with medicines.
Representatives from Breakthrough Science Society, including Ananya Dutta, Sabir Ahmed Mazumdarbhuiya, and Islamul Haque Laskar, along with Tuton Das from Aranyak, Silchar, announced that doctors Debattam Chand and Sayan Laskar attended the camp as medical professionals.
They were supported by health workers Kishan Das, Apon Lal Das, Premananda Das, and Pramila Vaishnav.
Local residents Anil Das and Swapan Choudhury also extended their assistance to ensure the camp's success.
The Bishfuti area often suffers from waterborne and polluted water-related diseases due to prolonged waterlogging when the sluice gate at Bangla Ghat is closed, leading to flooding.
In light of these conditions, the camp aimed to address the health issues faced by the local population.
Both organizations announced that they plan to hold another free medical camp in Betukandi next Sunday and have sought cooperation from everyone to make it successful.
