From faking birth certificate for job to a BILLIONAIRE: Story of Nikhil Kamath
Nikhil Kamath began trading at the age of 17 after dropping out of school

He belonged to a middle-class Brahmin family based in Bangalore. His father is a bank employee. He dropped out of school at the age of 14 after losing interest in formal education and had no idea what to do in life except one plan, 'making money'.

'Since I was good at maths and chess, people assumed I was smart, even my parents had this stupid faith in me’, said Kamath.

At 17, he got a job at a call center by faking a birth certificate and earned ₹8000. He worked 4pm to 1am and used his free time to try his hand at trading. He even moved out and started living with his girlfriend as he believes moving away from family and the judgement of relatives help you get down to the real stuff.

At 18, using his father's savings, he started trading stocks properly. His manager and other colleagues from the call center started investing too. After a time, he left the job and started Kamath Associates with his elder brother, Nithin Kamath. In 2010, they launched Zerodha.

’I have figured out 2-3 things I know how to do well and stick with them", said Kamath. His advice would be stop worrying about the things which will not matter in the future and start working on what you have to do and have that ' stupid faith' that it will work out.

Nikhil Kamath also entered Forbes' 2020 list of 100 rich Indians. His journey from a 14-year-old school drop-out, to working in a call center, from Zerodha to True Beacon is truly amazing and inspiring.
