Gauhati University to consider alternate mode for ensuing Examination.

Gauhati University is mulling for an alternative mode of examination, stated an official report on 21 April. However, the exams which are already going on will continue as scheduled without any change of mode and method. The details for the mode and method of examinations will be notified shortly. 

The decision came after students of the university protested regarding the offline mode of examination amid the rise of the 2nd wave of coronavirus.

The AASU unit of the Gauhati University submitted a memorandum asking for the blended mode of examination- both online and offline.

The University also released a Set of SOPs which must be followed inside the university campus to contain the spread of the virus, which stated that outside visitors are restricted on the campus and all gatherings, sports activity, freshers, farewell and cultural activities are prohibited.

Gauhati University in a notice stated, “All students who are going to complete their ongoing examinations or have completed the examinations are informed to vacate to the Hostels immediately after the completion of the examinations.”
